Da-Da Day

Only 3 more days until Dave is off for the Summ-ah!

I know Kiptyn and I will be VERY glad to have him back.   The past few weeks he has not been home a lot.  He has been doing report cards, he went on a class trip to Ottawa with his grade 8's, he prepped for and attended/chaperoned his grade 8's graduation, and geared up for the last few days of school.

I cannot wait to have him home with us and to enjoy the sunny weather with our baby without work getting in the way.  Summer reminds me of the smell of sunscreen, bringing extra clothing in the car at all times in case we spot a little lake, pool or splash pad to explore, floppy hats, pj's until noon days, dancing in the rain, BBQ-ing in the back yard, spur of the moment get-togethers with friends, THE BEACH!, road trips, night time campfires in the back yard, baby pools and sprinklers set up in a moments notice, lots and lots of walks, and running barefoot in the grass.

Not to worry....Mama drank the beer first

Last weekend was Dave's first Father's Day.
The weather was great and we spent it with the family outside.

The gardens were lush and bright and all ready for the garden show tour

YUMMO!

Here is the gift Kiptyn gave his Daddy on Father's Day (minus the frame).  We went to the park one day and took many, many photos.  Most of them Kippy-boo just wanted to throw the letters.

Bug and his cousin Jackson going for a wagon ride.
So serious.

Lots of love.

A brief message from Kiptyn:

It is not an easy task writing a post with a squiggly squirmy wee one on your lap!

Last week we went to the Teddy Bear Picnic with some of Kiptyn's friends!
We had a blast and there was so much to do!  Kiptyn couldn't wait for the car to take his nap...

Asher, Lily, Riley, Kiptyn, Max- Sweet Cheeks!

As usual, Kiptyn makes a move on Lily...

I love how they are all looking into the middle at my Kipper...well trained posing babies.

My Baby Boo

Weeeee!  Baby Toss!

Now, to the Splash Pad!

Serious baby.  This little one was ON THE MOVE!  He absolutely loves the water.  He crawls INTO the fountain just to get wet.  I am so glad he is a water baby like his Mama.

Now lets talk about his Bear Crawl.  For some reason, whenever he is on wet ground, he decides that he shouldn't put his knees down.  He doesn't do this at home or anywhere else....just on the wet ground...

 Wet and Wild

We are so thankful for our duck pond down the road.

LOVE this kid!
He is getting so independent. I could just smooch those cheeks all day.

Last week we also had our last classroom visit with the Roots of Empathy program.  I made "dirt and worm" cupcakes for the kidlets and Kiptyn gave them each their own personalized card with a picture of him to remember him by.  They were so cute and we are sad our journey with them has come to an end.  They gave us a beautiful published photo book with photos from each visit.  At the end of the book there is a picture of Kiptyn on his first visit beside a picture of Kiptyn on his last visit....what a difference!  We will forever treasure the time we spent in this classroom.

Well, another post is in limbo right now so I am sure it will be up sometime later this week.  We are trying to stay afloat this week until summer really begins.  Keep smiling and enjoy the sunshine everyone!
