Slowly but surely...

End of January to March....here we go....in fast forward.

We wrapped up Christmas with lots of celebrations and sleepless nights.   Although having a little one is tiring, there really isn't anything that compares to those middle of the night snuggles when all is quiet except the sound of tiny grunts and snores.

We welcomed our "Birdie" into the world with a little Welcome Party/Open House as most of our friends still hadn't even visited us in our new house.  The Birdie cupcakes  (made by a friend who makes cupcakes professionally) were the biggest hit (besides the baby of course) and I can still taste the bubblegum frosting.

We went on a few winter outings as a family of four.  One was to a Maple Sugar Farm.  It was VERY cold out that day but it didn't stop us from exploring before we warmed up with an amazing pancake breakfast.

We made the most of the insanely cold winter by going swimming at the local pool a few times.  Notice all of the snow out the window...

We gave Kippy's room a bit of a makeover...more to come on this!

We got together with family

And there was a lot of Hide-n-Go-Seek.

Bug's favourite place to hide is in closets!

Kiptyn's School Bus obsession grew and grew.
One day we took him to "touch the buses" in the local Bus Depot.
Honestly...I have never seen him so happy.  Why didn't we think of this sooner??

We went to a few birthday parties

And potty trained

Maisy's first Valentine's Day was low-key and full of love...(there may have been a few wardrobe changes)

I ran into Wal-Mart one day and Kippy insisted on picking up this chocolate flower for his Daddy

For those of you following me on Instagram...I am still unsure of when it initially took place, but Kippy's love affair with Maisy's ballerina doll started at some point during those long, cold winter days at home.  He calls her "Isa" (like the Dora character), and this has been going on ever since.

Although friends shouldn't date their friend's brother...it seems to be working out and Kiptyn couldn't be a prouder big brother.

Although days were cold, and the winter was long, we were very very busy.
The times we had at home in our pajamas were rare and therefore we soaked them up!

This dude is an expert "tooth brusher" now

Maisy and I started our first Mom & Baby Group on St. Patrick's Day.  This day has always been special to us as our family is Irish (hence Maisy's middle name Ireland), and we met a special friend that day in Baby Group who has the first name Ireland!

Although this was the first day meeting all of her friends, these babies have become so important to us over the past 6 months.
Let's just pause and admire the CUTENESS of this photo!

Kiptyn went to Daycare that day but enjoyed his St. Patty's Day window decals for many weeks prior to the 17th!

Since we had so much time left during the day together...we caught rainbows in Maisy's room and had a little photo shoot (are you surprised?)

Taste the Rainbow

When Kiptyn came home, they bonded over the iPad

Remember how I told you that Maisy has quite the personality?  Well....that was an understatement.
The faces she makes and the things she does take us by surprise every single day.

She didn't get her first tooth quite as early as Kiptyn did, but at six months she had four teeth, a lot of drool, and always a finger in her mouth

One of Kippy's favourite things to do is to go outside.

Especially after it rains....or during the rain.

He LOVES splashing in puddles.

Of course we couldn't forget the Superbowl!
Seahawks all the way!

I got this cool App for my iPhone that turns photos into paintings...I thought this was pretty awesome!
It was also one of the few pictures I got of Kippy Boo that day as he was full of beans and wouldn't sit still.

Having a girl is certainly a lot of fun in the wardrobe area...and since she DOES sit relatively still at this point,
Mama has had a lot of fun with dress-up.

Dresses and bows and bonnets- OH MY!

Next post.....SPINGTIME FUN!
