Half Way

There is a  reason why this blog post has taken so long.  I have been keeping a secret.  Although the secret is out to many, there are still some that have not yet heard the news.  To those friends and family that do not yet know...I am sorry.  We have been so busy with everything that we just didn't get to talk to everyone individually.  SO......here it is!!!

Kiptyn is going to be a BIG BROTHER!
(Check out the drawing on the tub...)

It is true friends...hence the title of this post "Half Way"....as I am due in early November so I am half way there already!

I guess the other news the is......we found out the gender.
Look at the open mouth!  Baby was talking and waving to us the whole ultrasound.

I took the results in an envelope to the baker before Dave and I were able to see what the baby was going to be.  We had a gender neutral cake made with either pink or blue icing in the middle of the cake.  Our parents came over on a Friday evening and we jump started the weekend with some excitement.

We all made guesses.
Four said BOY
 Two said GIRL

Although Kiptyn didn't make a guess, he couldn't wait to get his hands in the cake!

Drumroll please.....

It's A GIRL!

Proud big brother and his messy cake hands.

We are so excited
A new journey

Now that the news is out....I have to recap the last two months...

It seems a little silly to post our St. Patty's Day and Easter pics at this point, but I just have to share one of each...

We are SO excited the weather is finally feeling like summer, and today marks the first day of summer vacation for Dave and I!

HOORAY!

Kiptyn will still be in daycare part-time as he really loves it there and we want to hold his spot for September.  He is getting so big and is really loving the toddler room.  He will repeat anything you ask him to and he loves making crafts.

Disney week!

He made this Mickey hat and wouldn't take it off one morning

I don't think he will ever get bored of cars, trucks, and trains

Wear your slippers day!

This Mother's Day we didn't have the best weather, but it didn't stop us from taking a nice walk in the park.
We took similar pictures last year with the two of us.
I wonder how many years I will be able to do this...

(last year)

He had a little "square mouth" time when we didn't let him jump in the puddles.  It was much too cold and we didn't have extra shoes with us.

He got over it

The following day was a bit nicer and we spent it with family.  Again...this photo resembles one from last year...

(last year)

Kiptyn has been all about Dad these days.  It used to be Mama, Mama, Mama...but recently he wants Dad.  They are so cute to watch together.  Kiptyn brings out Dave's quirky side and Dave gives Kiptyn big belly laughs.

In this game (called 1,2,3), Dave holds Kippy Boo out and excitedly says, "ONE" and Kiptyn says, "TWO" in the sweetest voice while Dave lets him drop a bit yelling "THREE"!

This is how Dave brings Kiptyn to his change table after the bath

And they always have a good time hanging out feeding the ducks at the pond together

Bug has been a great help in the garden this year.  He loves going to the big nursery.  At home when Dave is weeding, Kipper will bring the weeds to the outdoor waste bag.  Such a good team.

One night we set off to the beach for a dinner date and sunset with friends.  Kiptyn and his friend Maddison were adorable together.
When we got home, we found sand everywhere!!!

Me and my babies! The bump is starting to show!

A few weekends ago we went for a fancy lunch with my family at a beach a little further away.  As usual, Kiptyn wanted to explore!

Grandpa's Boy

We went to the Touch A Truck event recently.  Kiptyn LOVES looking at them, but we have noticed he is not great with heights.  He couldn't get down fast enough!

Little Man has a new friend.  Her name is Kenzie, and she is perfect.

We can't wait for little sister to arrive!

Other than that, I have been feeling MUCH better lately- I was sick sick sick with this pregnancy once again.  I said to Dave, "I don't think I was THIS sick with Kiptyn"...he replied, "Yes you were".  Ha ha ha....I guess we tend to forget these things.  These days I am feeling great however.  I am past the bad sickness, but not uncomfortable yet.
Perfect for the summer!

We were so excited to share in our friend's wedding day with them.  Rebecca and Alex tied the knot up North and it was a nice little weekend away for Dave and I.  Too bad I couldn't share in a "Cheers" with everyone!

This was the beautiful hotel where we staye

A perfect day

Although no special drinks were ordered on my behalf....I still got a little goofy!
Surprised?

We found this HUGE yellow chair on the way home.  I wanted to take it with us but Dave said he wanted one too....and they were only selling the one.  He he he...

Kiptyn and I headed over to the Teddy Bear Picnic with some friends one day.
He wasn't afraid to get his face painted...and I think he made the most adorable tiger ever!

It was hot outside so he was able to enjoy the splash pad as well!

The next day was his Annual Daycare picnic.  We didn't have as much luck with the face paint this time, but he had a lot of fun!
Notice just a little bit of pink on his nose...the start of what was to be a bunny.

We have been on lots of walks....and I mean A LOT of walks.
When we do find the perfect bigger house to move to, I will miss this neighbourhood with the woods, duck pond, and park so close by.

See?
The heights things again.

He's getting so big

Rain doesn't stop us!
I loved this tiny yellow raincoat. As you can see however, it was getting a little small.
Time to break out the bigger one and save the yellow one for little sis!

Feeding the fish with Grandma

Yeah....some of our walks are in pj's

Some early morning grocery shopping is done in pj's as well (but not to worry...Mama is fully dressed)

On Father's Day weekend Dave had a special brunch with Kiptyn at daycare.

After brunch with the Welbourn's, we went to my parent's house.
Kiptyn adores running around in their back yard, and especially likes rides on his car down the hill.

So happy to celebrate with Uncle Dean and Uncle Ben!

Looks like he ate a smurf!

The water table....a favourite

And now he climbs right in shouting, "OH NO!"

Cars Cars Cars

Hi Grandpa!

Here is a great shot for his wedding.....

Now it is time to break into summer mode and have some relaxing FUN!

Look at these lashes

He's still my baby

Happy summer everyone!!!

Thanks for sharing in our excitement
