Here's the Scoop!

Well!  The little stinker is BREECH!

We just found out on Friday and therefore since the doctor said I most likely wouldn't make it to my due date anyway (I am already dilated and VERY crampy!), he scheduled the C-Section for TOMORROW!

Tomorrow, July 27, 2011 our little baby Bug will enter the world.  Not the way we had planned but I have a feeling there will be a lot of things that he will throw at us over the years to come that will be "unplanned"...lol.  This will also be a very special date for Dave and I because Dave proposed to me on the beach in PEI at sunset on this exact date 2 years ago.  We will always remember that date and now we will be adding to the memories.

We are VERY excited.  I am also a little bit scared, but I hear this is normal.  I was a little sad at the beginning when I found out that I wouldn't be able to give birth to him the natural way, but with his safety (and my own) in mind we now understand that this is the BEST way for all of us.

Since I am not the best sleeper in the world I am wondering how tonight will go.  I have so many things running through my mind, many of which I have written down over the past little while (some of these things I posted on livejournal a few months ago):

-will we be able to raise our little man the way that we talked about?
-will I be a good mother?
-will I have the energy to make each day special and exciting for him?
-will I be able to give him the knowledge and opportunities life has to offer in order for him to be everything that he has the potential to be?
-will he see and do a wide variety of things in order to see the world from all angles and be able to choose what he wants to do in life?
-will he learn to love his friends and family, make good choices, give back to the world, and make time for the people who love him?
-will we educate him enough about peer pressure, bullying, sexual awareness, being a leader, having goals and dreams, getting a great job that he loves, finding true love, and raising a proper family himself that brings him pure joy and happiness?

I know everything will fall into place once he arrives and we bring him home but I can't help but think about everything that is to come.  I will use my natural instincts in order to provide in the best way I can for him and for our family.  I am SO VERY blessed to have so many amazing friends and family in our lives.  Thank you to everyone who has showered us with love, blessings, gifts and advice over the past nine months.  We are truly lucky.  Dave and I will be trying to make as many phone calls, texts, and e-mails tomorrow and in the following days as possible to give everyone the news.  Of course we should probably NAME the little Bug before we do so!  Lol....we honestly don't have a name yet!  Perhaps "Bug" will just stick?

Hope this finds everyone well.  Thanks again for all of your love and support.  We can't wait to introduce you to our newest little family member!

Lots of love always,
Carla & Dave

Weekend Update!

Good morning!

What a weekend!  So I am up early (nothing new there) since I didn't have a chance to update on the weekend like I had promised I thought I would do it before anyone else wakes up...lol.

Our shed is COMPLETE!  Here are some photos of the process and the final product!  It is BEAUTIFUL!  Great job Dave, John & Dennis!

Framing- the early stages...my job was the easiest....lol.

 Dave on the roof!

John adding the roofing

Starting the stain!

And the final product!  LOVE the flower pots!  The yard is looking very inviting now!  Thanks men!

I think I will go for a swim (with my HUGE belly!!!)

One night last week Dave got a new label maker...he was pretty excited.  He decorated both the baby and me!

BIG belly!
My friends threw me one last shower (I am one lucky girl!) and Steph made the CUTEST cupcakes shaped like baby rattles! Check these out!  It was SO hot outside we didn't take many pictures.  Opsy!

Rebecca came down to visit.  I thought I would have my toes painted light blue with teddy bears for the upcoming arrival of our Prince.  It didn't turn out as expected.  I left the salon with just pink.  Lol...HILARIOUS!

On route to a little get-together...my belly is getting SO BIG!

For our one year Anniversary we headed to Stratford to see Jesus Christ Superstar.  It was great!  We went out for a nice lunch, saw the show, and then met my parents at Moxies for dinner.  Moxies is where Dave and I went on our first date, our one year anniversary of that date, and the night before our wedding.  Then we headed over to the house my parents were babysitting an adorable puppy at and went for a nice swim until we enjoyed a piece of our wedding cake (got it out of the freezer!) later that night.  It was a very special day.

Us at Moxies for dinner

Swimming after dinner, and CAKE!!!

The next day, Dave took me for my Anniversary surprise!  He drove me to the mall, brought me to the COACH store and said, "Pick a purse"!  I am a spoiled girl!

The past couple of days it has been MORE work for John, Dennis and Dave.  They are putting a  deck on the back of my parent's house.  So far so good!  Next up: the fence!

As for the baby....there will most likely be another update later today or tonight.  A lot is going on and we are awaiting a phone call to determine the next step!  We should see the little baby BUG anytime over the next 5 days...possibly TODAY!  I will explain soon!

Thanks for reading!  Have a WONDERFUL day!

Maternity Shoot

This will be a quick post as I feel like I am very behind and I need a bit more time to catch up!  I will post again this weekend....promise!  In the meantime, here are a few of the maternity shots we had done.  I didn't really love them, but I am sure that one day I will be super glad we got them done for the memories.  And Dave looks SUPER handsome!

Here is a pic of the three of us!

This one is of the two boys.....my Man, and my little Man!

Here's our little BUG!

Finally, us just being....US!

That's all for now!  More to come this weekend!

Summer Sunshine

Finally summer has arrived!

I am now finished work completely for the next 14 months!  Thank goodness for being a teacher.  :)

We have been VERY busy since school ended however.  We have been working on the house, getting paperwork finished, running errands, and hanging out with friends and family as much as possible before our little BUG gets here.

We had the Emily Carr CAR RALLY last week which Dave and his partner in crime created for their staff.  I luckily joined a car and was the DD driver for the day.  It was SO much fun and we all appreciated the amount of effort that went into the Rally.

This is my team on the beach!  Mike, Kay, Lindsay, and I.

My baby belly on the beach.

Dave and I at our final destination before dinner.  It was BEAUTIFUL.

My mom held a shower for me joined with my Grandma's 93rd birthday celebration last weekend.  It was so nice to see all of the family, and it turned out to be another beautiful day!

We went to a BBQ at Nancy & Colin's house for Canada Day.  There were fireworks all around the neighbourhood and when we got home we saw about five more sets from our own neighbourhood.  We watched them from the windows in our attic/loft.  What fun!

The day after Canada Day...still in my Canada Day pj's...love my little BUG!

I had my Dance Company girls over for a year-end BBQ to thank them for all of their hard work.  They were so cute.  The weather was hot and then turned into a STORM so we ran inside to enjoy the Dance Show on DVD as well as some Rock Band.

Other than that, we have been lounging by Chris & Jen's pool and enjoying the weather.

Dave and his Dad and Dennis are currently working on the shed in the backyard and it is really coming along!  We need the space to store all of our stuff from the garage.

They have also been putting down a floor in the attic (other half of the loft is unfinished) so that we can use that as storage as well.  It was be SO nice to finally be able to get our "baby stuff" organized and put away, then we will have a guest room once again for visitors!

Well, off to cool down in the pool and supervise the men while they work away...goodness pregnancy has its benefits!

Bye for now!
