Rise and Shine...It's VEGAS time!

Good morning!  I chose to wake up at 4:30am today.  Not because my baby is up but so that I had some time to myself to make a french vanilla coffee, and some southwestern scrambled eggs, and get up here on the computer to write.  And what a good morning it is!

Before we left for Vegas we went to my Mom's award ceremony at The University of Western Ontario.

My mom was one of seven who won the Award of Excellence for the University.  It was a lovely event and we are so proud of her!  They had us for a fancy lunch, and the ceremony followed.  We weren't able to stay for the appetizers and drinks after the ceremony as we had a plane to catch! Here she is!

Speech!

My beautiful Mommy.

Vegas-  What a place to go!
Although the flight was long for just four days and four nights of fun we sure packed in the activities.  The weather was beautiful, the wedding was beautiful, and the atmosphere was invigorating!

It was Kiptyn's first plane ride and boy was it fun!  He was the best little traveler and although he only slept for two hours on the ride there he didn't make a peep when he was awake.  He just sat there on my lap bundled up and smiled up at me.

Of course when we arrived, Kippy's internal clock was still on Canadian time and therefore my mom and I were up and walking around with him at 3:30am.  We didn't mind however as we got to explore a little bit and it made for a very full first day!

By 9am we had explored the hotel, went for coffee, went to pick up Daddy, got ready for the day, walked half way up the strip, went for breakfast, toured a few hotels, and when we got to the dolphin sanctuary it still wasn't open for another two hours.

Just chillin' in the stroller and enjoying the ride.

Elvis!

I have GOT to stop holding him like this for pictures.....that thumb just doesn't look right.  Ha!

The big buildings and sights were amazing.  People say it is an adult Disney World.  I would have to agree....right down to Mickey Mouse!

 Taking a short rest....

This is the view from one of the bridges on the strip.  Beautiful!

Here we are by noon in the Venetian hotel.  It was as if we were in France.

Our hotel was the Paris hotel.  With the huge Eiffel tower there was no way anyone could ever lose their way no matter how hard you partied at night.

The next day was sunny and beautiful and we started it out in the pool. Kiptyn LOVED the water and his face was priceless.

Then we got dressed and walked the other way on the strip!

Blown glass ceiling fixtures at the bar...

Blown glass flowers at the Bellagio...

Stained glass ceilings that I would have missed if it weren't for Kiptyn looking up in awe...

And Cakes!  Ohhh the cakes.......

We even caught a taping of the TLC show Randy to the Rescue!  Lol.....glad to be a part of it.

We tried to re-create The Hangover (being in Vegas with a baby and all....) but Bug wasn't too fond of the sling that morning.  The glasses however he rocked out!

 Next: The Wedding.

We were SO grateful to be a part of Colleen and Tim's Big Day!  We got all ready in our hotel room...this was Kiptyn's first wedding, and in Las Vegas nonetheless so he had to play the part.  He didn't even attempt to take the sunglasses off his face.

Darn THUMB!

Walking through the casino Kippy-boo was a hit.  World's cutest gambler.

When we arrived at the top of the Eiffel tower restaurant we just had to check out the magnificent view!

 And the mirrors...

Then we got seated and awaited the big moment.  Kyla was adorable as a junior bridesmaid.

And here they are! The beautiful new couple!

It was a short and perfect ceremony.

After a quick toast (Dave toasting with Kyla- a student at his school, and Colleen's niece- had to get a picture of this...lol.  And don't worry...hers was Ginger Ale), we headed upstairs for a quick nap so that Kiptyn was refreshed for the dinner.

Although he slept through the dinner anyway it was a wonderful night.  I am so happy for my friend and her "husband!".  Kiptyn was too....he partied himself out.

On our final day, we woke up early (surprise surprise), we swam once again, and walked another 50 miles or so....lol.

Good morning!

All ready to hit the streets!

And how wondrous those streets are!

This place sure is magical.  I don't know when we will ever make it back there but it is definitely one of those, "we shall return" places.

Although it was a great trip, Kiptyn was happy to be back in his own bed and his own room.

 Until next time!
